TINCAL LAB is a contemporary jewelry workshop and gallery space founded by Portuguese jeweler Ana Pina. Created in 2015 under the motto curating and experimenting in contemporary jewelry, Tincal lab is located in the heart of Porto Art District and works actively in the promotion of this amazing creative area, featuring workshops with invited jewelers, individual and collective exhibitions, by local and international artists. The highlight goes to the Tincal lab Challenge, an annual initiative that starts with an Open Call to jewelers from all over the world and results in a collective thematic exhibition that aims to inspire artists and increase public awareness to contemporary jewelry.

Ana Pina was born in 1980, in Porto, Portugal, city where she studied, still lives and works.

She graduates in architecture (FAUP, 2004) and works in an office for a few years, until she founds her passion for contemporary jewelry.

Jeweler and gallerist, she divides her work between the personal brand, launched in 2012, and Tincal lab, opened in 2015. In her work Ana Pina combines the background in architecture with traditional jewelry techniques and contemporary concepts of design in the creation of jewels with a strong abstract and geometric inspiration.

Unique pieces or limited collections combine elements of a common vocabulary in a game of contrasts and textures, geometric relations and asymmetries, as if they were letters building words inserted in a bigger text.
